You obviously have your Camellia sheltered, no sign of frost damage on those white flowered Varieties.

They need filtered light or morning sun light or afternoon sun if you have them into much shade they wont flower Kate and dont let yhem dry out in late summer one of mine has nt flowered this year. It can take up to 5 years to flower and they dont like sand so if they are by a wall they wont do well. They like really cold weather in winter but sun in sping or early summer if you have late flowering. They like being cut back too.

I have a six ft fence around my garden Siris I would say they are in sheltered oositions as I have had the frost get some if we get bad frosts.

There is a lovely anemone flowered White Camellia along the road, (similar to one you have) gorgeous until the flowers are frosted, then they turn brown, yuk!

Like the Camelias then if the frost gets at them such a shame are they facing East by any chance as they say not to plant Camelias facing east because of the frost getting the buds or flower if the sun comes out it opens the flower then the frost gets it the next morning with morning frost also Camelias dont like tap water either they prefere rain water.

That neighbour's Cematis is 'freestanding' by their frontage, that is not protected by a fence. If the wind blows it whips up the road. Our soil locally is slightly acidic.

I am surprised their clematis is nt on the floor if nothing supports it with your winds.
I think my siol must be acidic too aa Rhododendron Camelias Clematis Acers seem to to like it here .
