Shirley - it's actually under a shelf so it is already shaded.
I had taken the shelf off to wipe it clean and discovered the nest. I knew they were trying to build in there earlier in the year, and we had a few stand-offs, but I thought they had decided a laurel offered more privacy and protection

First and preferred choice was your greenhouse then! We have a pair of Robins in and out of the garden all day to feed, forage and drink water. They fly in and out of a neighbour's huge Bay tree, as do a pair of Blackbirds. Fascinating to watch them ...

They must of thought it safer in the green house lucky you.
