Climber to 15 feet for shade, with shelter from cold winds. Most of the flowers got frosted this year, but a few in the tangle of growth escaped

There's always next year. I need to give it really good pruning this year too, as it's getting a bit out of hand now

Yes that is my moto if one of my plants dont flower. Does it like being pruned like some climbers do.

It just needs cutting back to keep it from spreading too far, but you can cut out complete shoots from time to time

That is handy to know you can cut shoots out thank you . Could it be grown up into a tree or shrub?

Yes, but the host would have to be pretty big and robust. The holboellia will reach about fifteen feet, but it makes a lot of stems so there is quite a weight to support
