Eye-popping colour. A new planting.

It lives up to it's name. I don't think I've ever seen a 'hotter' Alstro. They can be such a pain, or such a blessing. My Indian Summer and a tall yellow one I got from my Mum are both a real blessing. But I had 'Saturne' and it was awful...it just spread like wildfire, and a bit of a wash-out. Then I had a lovely white one that didn't overwinter and another gorgeous purple one that likewise didn't survive. There seems to be a lot of difference in hardiness.

I shall be interested to see how they go on. I've bought about 6 new ones this year, so I hope they don't all disappear! I have an orange one that has spread like wildfire. It was supposed to be red and I expect it's actually the one that they warn spreads like mad.
