oh yes! I pick a small branch and keep it beside the computer. This is the first year after a major cleanup. dead wood and suckers... some of the suckers I keep and transplant around the garden... but had to do the big job last year as it was looking sickly.

I need to remove all the suckers from mine too. it smells wonderful doesn't it.

the best smell, Seaburngirl. totally agree. you ever had an Amur Maple? They smell just like lilacs but their flowers are lime green and not very visible. I used to stump visitors to my town garden... they would comment about my lovely smelling lilacs while standing under the maple.

a memory plant, 3d!
it is so pungent that, depending on wind direction, it's present everywhere... the neighbourhood is rife with them and the whole village smells delicious. Another tree I love the smell of in June is the Tilia.. (basswood, lime) The basswood I have on the hill are huge... 60 ft. giants and the blossom is so far up there that the scent is diffuse.
