thanks 3d! The area I'm developing here was an old tip... I've found bones, brylcreem tubes, espadrilles, lots of shards of various types of china and glass, even fishing line. The soil is sharp sand and black with mica and lots of very old organic matter! I'm hopeful but have lots to do.

Your very welcome Lori.
I assume they were domestic animal bones. I ve not see brylcream since my dad used it in the late 60s he died in 1972. Interesting about the china though I would love to have seen that.
So you ve got a good mix of earth there lets hope the plants thrive in it. Yes a lot of work your always up to some thing I dont know how you do it all.

the sharp content has made gloves an absolute necessity,3d. I like to get my hands in the dirt, and being an old tip it's probably not too good to get it under my nails, but the transfers are beginning to come along..(it's June already... I'm so far behind.) My lawn mower and weed eater are both on the fritz..and the grass and weeds are getting tall... grrrr.... so frustrating.

Yes best to wear gloves Lori
So pleased to hear your transfer bed is doing well.
Yes its maddening is nt it Lori when machines you need at this time of year brake down when you need them most.

definitely, 3d! will have to see if my neighbour, a small engine mechanic, can spare me some time to help out... I think the carburetor is sludgy from old gasoline or maybe he can send instructions via Messenger on how I can do it for myself.

Yes that would be great for Lori even if he can give you instructions how to do it you then could go to you tube and see if any one has the same machine as you showing how to clean a carburetor on your make of machine.

I salute you for all the hard work keeping up with your estate must take.

I drained and swished the tank and so far it's done the trick. but if it does it again I think it will go to a mechanic... don't want to horse around with it, 3d!
LOL!.thanks Siris! . the poor old "estate" with this old lady in charge. Before COVID our son told OH and I that we were taking a chance living so far out of the way..."What if you needed help!?" with the present situation he's done a 180 degree... "glad you're where you are, Mom and Dad. stay home...stay safe"... I have enough to keep me occupied, now if my grass cutting equipment was working...
