Red monarda

By Anget

Red monarda

Unnamed. Bought last year and has spread significantly, even though the bed is dryish. I love it.

Something I don't grow, I don't know why not, probably cause there's no more room.

Until I moved here, I hadn't been used to plants romping off. This is its second season and it is definitely romping, which has surprised me.

Very fond of Monarda, just added three to the border, hopefully they will flower this year....

To be honest, I wasn't sure they'd grow here because the borders can get bone dry. This has no name because I bought a couple of 'cheapies' to try and they're both very happy. The other one is only just coming into flower. It's sometimes worth trying things that the textbooks tell you won't thrive in that particular situation!
DD, look forward to seeing pics. of yours.

Bergamot, or bee balm, Fernever. An aromatic plant.

Will post a pic of ours as soon as they start flowering...
