9858 another hosta from the collection

I bought a "collection" from Vesey's and they came first year bare root and unlabelled. I especially like this one but don't have a name to put to it yet. I have joined a provincial hosta club on the net and since everyone seems so gungho... I will know anon. by chance, would you have one of these Julia? it's a siebold I think.

Julia: I've had patriot for years... brought it with me from my town garden. I'll have to check out your "june". they are just beginning to flower. I love the flowers and I'm hoping to find one of the scented varieties among the new plants.

Lush and healthy, Lori! I do love them too, but, mine often get nibbled by little beasties too often..

they easily become a habit, Kate. I have found that the only flower that can survive being planted under hosta are the little perennial violets...the heart shaped leaves are so pretty while the hosta is unfurling, and the flowers add colour for a while. when the violets are done the hosta is in full shape and the violets live the summer in the shade provided.
