Excellent photography ! Your foliage looks so healthy, the foliage always starts to look very ragged just as it starts to bloom on mine every year ! I'm sooo jealous...! lol

Thank you Flcrazy. This plant has done well - it is in a pretty sheltered location, where it doesn't get much wind.. maybe that's what keeps the leaves intact? Our other variety planted right beside it doesn't fair too well, getting brown spots all over the leaves, looking a little rough.

Hi Marguerite - yes, those are flower buds at the end of the stem. It has quite a unique shaped flower (for our area, anyway) which is one of the main reasons we got it :)
