I have just bought one of these, just wondered how hardy are they? on the lable said frost hardy - i always find this a bit confusing to be honest, whats the difference between frost hardy and fully hardy? - or am i just being a typical Essex girl lol

Sadly, it means that it may need some winter protection - it is not fully hardy, it will take temps of up (or down!) to -5 degrees. We had that this winter!

I have given up on these - they grow from little bulbs and I can get them to grow leaves but no flowers! Sorry - I hope yours does better.

Thanks Spritz, this one is varigated, so the leaves are actually really nice, the flowers are apprently lilac on mine. the flowers on this one are beautiful, it's a shame it has'nt flowered for you again. i have put mine in a very sunny spot, it dose'nt say on the info what aspect or soil it needs so we will have to see. thanks for the advice.

Yes, I'm sure you are right. Although my two were in sunny beds, they probably didn't get enough sun due to my habit of (very) close planting.

Good luck with yours, Angie!
