Schizostylis coccinea 'Major' - 2020 (Schizostylis coccinea)

I don't remember planting this - I've been trying to get rid of it!

I have been trying to get this to establish !

I have plenty of Jennifer but this red one is being awkward.

I have a love/hate relationship with these. If the soil is too dry, all you get is a few leaves; if it's wet enough, the thing spreads like mad. So I thought, pots in the pond should do the trick - well, lots of foliage and not a single flower for four years. OK, time to get rid of it. But somehow, it's popped here in solid clay

I have a lot of the red one growing in dry soil under the birch tree. No idea where they came from! They were just leaves for the first 2 years from germination. I understood them to need damp soil. Love the colour of these, Andrew.

Mine refuse to flower, unless I give them a bucket of water at this time of year, then voila!
Are the blue flowers a Ceratostigma, now that plant is a spreading nuisance.
