they are beautiful plants. in the uk we have a native one that is grown in 'secret' sites. They are protected by law.
commercially they make popular house plants.

I have a couple moth orchids but they are as common as grass.

When I go to the botanical garden, they say the same thing - these are protected species and many aren't available commercially.
