In spring mode. I want to add more by removing some things in the photo like the Agave attenuata. I have bigger in a pot so no need to hang on to the clump I planted over 20 years ago when they were new to the bay area. Pretty common now.

Not boring. Its a collectors way of making some cohesive look. It does take though much pruning to not let one plant dominate or block light. For sure I spend much more time pruning than planting nowadays.
