Saucer magnolia in succulent garden.

That's the bay area for you. Plants from cold climates right next to plants that dont even like a frost. It's done everywhere, not some occasional mix.

Beautiful tree . . .

That same magnolia will not bloom here for another 2 months Stan. Maybe a cooler climate plant but blooms in the winter in your area. It was trimmed yo a nice shape.
My magnolia was shaped (or rather misshaped) by heavy snow earlier.
What is that interesting (still bare) big tree beside it, do you know?

I've tried to figure that out..its got grafts on it and its not a fruit tree.
It might be a Jacaranda that he's grafting on some dwarf Jacaranda stock. He might love the tree..but he wants it not to take up the whole front of the house..all just my guess.

Looks a lovely magnolia, Stan. Sometimes it good to take a leap of faith!
My neighbour has a pink one in front, it’s in bud at the moment.

Thanks you Kate- hope your feeling much better.

Klahanie...on second thought..that's a Citrus trunk ( maybe!) and he's grafting on to that. That would be much more likely.

Thanks Stan.
Citrus. Interesting. They can grow pretty large than . Of course we see them here only in pots (I have 2) and even in Mexico they were mainly kept small in the yards.
This trunk seems huge.
