All sorts Jac, Rock rose, pinks, and Caryopteris, cuttings, and what you cant see on the otherside is Elaeagnus, and Euonymus (3 different varieties from mums garden) cuttings. in the seed trays we have Hardy Geraniums, Allium, Lily, Evening Primrose, and Viola 'Freckles' i also have loads more on my seed tray stand on the patio, a few bits for my own garden, some of the cuttings are for Sid, i am doing a swap with her, and the rest is all my stuff for ebay, done well through spring and the early part of summer, but its gone really quite now, so i am having a bit of a stock up ready for the autumn rush. - here Jac, now you have a greenhouse why don't you try it, i bet you could make good money with the amount of room you have! - my greenhouse has already paid for its self! and i end up with endless stocks for my garden too, not that it stops me from the odd spending spree ofcourse! lol

Ooooo - wonderful! I've got everything crossed! :-D
Are any of the ones in the picture for me?
I've sold a few things on e-bay this year - helps pay for the broadband connection!! You're right, it has gone really quiet now - I haven't sold the last few things I put on, so I think I'm just going to save everything until next spring. Only problem is, some of it might be too big to post by then. I've got one tree I've just realised is 4ft tall - now how on earth am I going to post that?!!

yes Sid they are, and yes it is very quite now on ebay, but if last year is anything to go by autumn is also busy on ebay sometimes better than spring for seeds, perennials and shrubs, a few more weeks and it will start to pick up again, general indicator is when the kids go back to school, i think a lot of people are on holiday now, and thinking about school uniforms ect. a lot of gardeners out there start thinking about spring and what they want to plant around september time, so if you are offering the right things you'll do well through autumn as much as spring! a lot of what i am sowing now i am hoping to sell as plug plants during autumn. hardy geraniums, shrub cuttings perennial root divistions ect all good to sell over the next few weeks. infact your tree would proberly go well in autumn just as well in spring. what type of tree is it? - i bought an Acer and a Rhus tree last autumn from ebay both well over 5ft. so it can be done. and they are thriving lovely. autumn is better to plant out some of the bigger things they get a bit of the wet weather before going dormant and then they are ready to go when spring hits, i always buy the bigger things during autumn. i think i paid about £10 postage for each item, at least that will give you some indication on what to charge for postage, and as i remeber i had to bid on them both and there was lots of competion. so well worth a go Sid.

Thanks Angie - that's reasuring. My tree is an Acer. How did the seller wrap and send out your big tree and did it have leaves on or had they waited for all the leaves to drop off before selling? Sarah.

it was in a kinda long cardboard box or just long bits of cardboard wrapped round and stappled up so as to make a box type shape. the root was well wrapped in plastic - bare root obviously but with some damp compost and the top part was wrapped in bubble wrap, and then the cardboard the whole length of the tree. and yes it was dormant. this is the best time to plant them anyway, also you can cut them back a bit it if is dormant so that it is easier to wrap, you should'nt cut or move them in growth, a bit like roses really.

Sounds like how I've done it before with the bigger trees. I think you're right that it will post easier when dormant. Previously I've sent out trees whilst in growth - I just remove any loose compost and wrap the remaining root ball in a plastic bag to keep moisture in. I hope they survived!!!! The trees I usually send are small - up to about 2ft - and those I find fit nicely into a postal tube. Anyway, I'll wait till this one is dormant I think.
