Hemerocallis Black Magic not doing well

I think it must be gall midge some of the flower buds are fatter and others look distorted when open, i keep deadheading hoping it may get better in a week or two like last year

It's such a shame I have realised now it's what has been the matter with it the last couple of years and it's packed with buds, would look great if only it was allowed, my others get the odd one but nothing like this, I have removed loads of buds from it :-(

I have a few gall midge affected plants too, I take the distorted buds off to kill the larvae in case they just manage to drop to the floor and pupate when the flower opens.
