You could be tricked into thinking Francoa is an Orchid, but no its F.sonchifolia Rogersons variety.

Quite a tall variety with these purply flowers. I've another F. sonchifolia with pinker flowers, not quite so stand-out as shorter, variety or soil/planting position?
