They are very restrained here Klahanie. They do pop up every now and then in a pot also. Where my hose does not reach,they don't either. No rains in a long dry summer keeps them in check.
Thanks you Seagirl and Kate. Nobody was more surprised the first time I saw them bloom. They make a single small stem with tiny tubular leaves. Then they make flowers that weigh as much as the whole plant. Very Wizard of Oz like plants.
