You can always tell when sarcococca is in flower by the scent

Same here - there used to be a low hedge of it at the entrance to Highdown Gardens - folk would comment on the lovely scent - nada for me!

We grow three varieties and they do well…unfortunately at the bottom of the garden…behind other shrubs! nowhere near nose height…..

I love this shrub but I cant smell it though all the family can.
Just need to say I have never been able to smell it! its not a Covid thing.
