Honey bee - Apis mellifera

UK’s only honeybee seen from March - September known as European honeybee and within the species there is a number of different types of honeybee, referred to as races such as the Italian bees and Carniolan bees.
Bees have been creating honey for over one hundred and fifty million years and to make just one pound of honey they fly over 55,000 miles in other words 2.2 times around the world.
I shall certainly appreciate it that little bit more when I squeeze some honey on my breakfast in the mornings, thank you little bees :)
