This shrub grows very slowly, but does flower well in spite of its size after three years in the garden.

No - it's in my sunniest border, but I'll just check in my RHS book....yes, it says grow in sun. There are several I'd love to grow - 'Woodbridge' - deep pink, and 'Lady Stanley' a white double with a maroon centre for a start! Oh dear. Maybe when the large Juniper tree goes I might fit another one in.
