Japanese Persimmon for my records

That's unusual.

It is Ange. I got it in a sale at Gardening Express. Not a website I would recommend, very hot and miss. Anyway, it came as a bare root in late spring. Far too late to plant really, but I stuck it in a pot, more in hope than expectation. It only started growing very recently. Think it was late June. It grew a bit at the bottom of the stem and a bit at the top. Nothing in between. So last week I removed all the lower growth and thought it might make a standard. It’s a bit lanky, but we’ll see.
