This picture doesn't really do this variety many favours - it looks as if the flash has reflected on the bloom. It's a beautiful very pale yellow / cream. It does win prizes at shows listed in the National Begonia Society booklet. I haven't shown it myseld yet, really. I'm still building some stock up of this one.

I took a copy of this one an put it thru PSP x2 and uploaded it to my page, see what you think.

THey folks at the central region branch were really friendly and one or two told me not to buy any tubers till I had spoke to them around Christmas as they had "... loads of spare cutting tubers" in fact one of them had nearly 200 !!!

I might give of of them a ring and see if I can nip over next weekend to have a look at what he does with his and pick his brains. I started to make a list of about 4 or 5 varieties but since reading the summer bulletin ( I joined last week !) it's now a short list of about 20 lol!!

I have taken a look, it looks much better after you've worked some magic on it. I know pictures can be improved, but i've no idea of the process.
200 cuttings, must have lived in the greenhouse, and must have loads of space to grow that many cuttings with the plants as well. I usually try for about 2 or 3 new ones each season (sometimes more, if i really can't decide) and try them. I find that although some varieties do well in the book, there are some that don't do so well in my greenhouse - some grow backwards, which is fine for the cut bloom plants but spoils a pot plant really. I find it's trial and error to find what looks to be doing well in the book and winning a lot, and what does well in my greenhouse and wins for me at shows. All interesting stuff though.
