Does anyone know what species this rather splendid fungus is?

Sorry, I didn't smell them! I'm in a wheelchair so couldn't get down to them but they didn't have a strong enough smell to reach me!

Sorry, but I think these are honey fungus. Don't panic tho - I've had it in my garden for years but it's never effected any of my shrubs and trees. I read that as long as the general condition of the plants are good to begin with, then they are able to resist the fungus. My shrubs look healthy, so I'm guessing they are able to repell the fungus successfully. Young honey fungus are meant to be edible, but I've never tried one!
