Snowy Asleep!

Snowy Asleep!

This is my beloved cat Snowy, photographed shortly before he died in 2006. He was a rescue cat who lived to the grand age of 20! Like many white cats he developed skin cancer on his ears and in this photo you can see his ears had been amputated. He still looked gorgeous.

Blodyn has white ears and the vet has told me to put cream on them in the summer. It hasn't been necessary very often this year. And it's such a struggle to get her to keep still for me to do it. I hope she'll be alright. All the best, Hywel.

We used to put sun block on Snowy's ears but we had another cat at the time who used to lick it off!!! It isn't easy but, worth persevering with sun cream - the highest factor children's one you can find. If the worst comes to the worst and they have to have their ears removed they do very well without them. Snowy had six happy years without ears and died of old age at 20!
I'll try to find another photo or two of him so you can see the loss of ears need not be too unsightly.

Oh, God bless Snowy. I believe cats can't be unsightly - with or without ears. No matter what. This is a beautiful cat!
