She's a lovely lady - 76 and as deaf as a door post - literally - so conversations tend to be one-sided with her doing all the shouting! She never married and lives alone and her big passion in life are her potted plants and cooking.

She (Romeo's mum) is so kind hearted and often comes round with some of the most amazing dishes she's cooked - i.e. when I come home at 7 pm dragging my feet with exhaustion after a day at work !! ha ha. My other neighbour (Napoleon's mum) looks after me too and plies with me fresh veg and fruit from their land...... Life certainly takes on a totally different quality over here. The people in these small hilltop towns are so warm and generous and still have those social values that slowly seem to be disappearing from the big cities.
