Vera Coates and Ziggy. Should have taken the blooms off, but couldn't bring myself to do it. I shall as soon as they start to edge a bit.

for the benefit of the tuber the blooms should have been taken off and the plants should be going down for the winter - these are the only blooms left on now. It always seems such a long wait until they come again next year that i like to leave any that still look good until they are going over the top and edging. The blloms will come off as soon as they do edge, but for now i am still enjoying them when i go into the greenhouse.

They did look great in the greenhouse, but they've all gone now. Just leaves left that are going down for winter. It's nice to look back at the photo's though, and look forward to next years blooms.

Our begonias outdoors were blooming until 28 October - then the frost and snow got them! They make such a stunning display - some had been in bloom since June. I have successfully overwintered some for 4 years and the corms are now 8 inches across and I pot them up individually in large plant pots. With the smaller corms, I use the same colour in containers - using 3, 7 or even 15 plants, depending on the size of container. They are far more impressive than Bizzie Lizzies, and they deadhead themselves! Several people who have visited the garden are now growing begonias!

Blooms are beautiful, I understand your reluctance to remove them.
