Do you know what type it is? Reckon you should be OK whatever it is but certainly if it's a musa basjoo or ensete ventricosum it will be fine. Even I manage those in North Yorkshire (and today it has been very north - LoL). Feed it lots of Guinness.

If it does look too battered you can always cut it right back. It will spring into action with a great spring next um spring. Seriously they are a lot more resilient than people think. I chop mine back every autumn and just shove them in a cold greenhouse until May. Keep them dry until you want them to kick in again as long as there is no frost can get to it, no problems.
