This is what you have to look for to grow a standard fuchsia.
Youcan do with pair of leaves bu ta better head with 3.

Yes have you grown a standard Jacque.
Also best to put a stake in to keep stem straight as it grows.

A lot of yrs ago i grew a Standard which went wonky as i didnt know then2stake it as u say :/ O well il have another go now i know how2keep it straight Thanx ScotkatX :)
