This gets minimal sun and practically no rain but it is thriving. The scent from the tiny flowers fills half the garden in January and February

Ideal maple. Typical size is 2 feet tall and slightly more across, it's the smallest of the sarcococcas

This is a lovely plant, is it the one known as Christmas Box? If it is then you will have a gorgeous scent on top of a lovely plant, I have one in my garden too

As far as I can make out, Christmas Box refers to any of the shrubs in the sarcococca family. I have S.humilis beside the patio in the back garden (where the enclosed conditions make the scent even more powerful) and S.hookeriana beside the front gate (here is more open and breezy so you only seem to get whiffs now and again but a good shrub nevertheless).

Sounds like a great winter plant Andrew. Any good for a small courtyard garden?
