It looks like it could be a distant member of the Gaillardia family the petals have that look and the big seed heads....interesting.

Reminds me of some of the fancier glasshouse spoon mums, this one looks similar to one I'd seen called 'Golden Star' a few years ago.
Fantastic shot of a monach too, as beautiful as the flowers are, his coloring is even brighter !

Thanks Flcrazy. It definitely looks like a spoon-petaled mum. I looked up the 'Golden Star' and I think this one very similar, but a little different too. These petals seem to droop more and the center looks more rounded to me, instead of being flat. I also didn't find anything else that looked like, so maybe it is??? :)
