Leylandii trunks after topping

Wow, truely naked!
I have done the same to mine but only on the garden side. I have planted evergreen shrubs close to them and cut the leylandii back to allow more light for the shrubs. Once the shrubs are established and are big enough to afford us some privacy the rest of the leylandii will go. I am sooo looking forward to that day!

Yes I am pleased to see them go. I had cut them before so there are a number of dead trunks still standing. A wonderful supply of fire wood, some of which I have already burnt., there have been some really cold evenings so they have earned their keep.
