Prickly pears in Sicily

Taking the trees behind it as a scale reference...that cactus must be at least four feet tall...is that right? What a wonderful thing it is too... look at the pears on it!

Yes Lori, they were enormous - in fact, very often much much taller than 4 ft - I tried to take more photos of their abundance out in the wilderness but it was difficult to stop as we were almost always driving along where they were at their most majestic -
