Santa Croce (Holy Cross) - I'm afraid that this photo doesn't do justice to its magnificence

This cross is about 20 metres high. It used to be lit up with powerful spot lights and could be seen from almost every part of the town down below - as a sign of protection from Jesus.

It's sad Irish but old solid values and traditions seem to be dying in the area. The Church was slowly losing all its faithful and the place became a target for vandals and shady suspicious encounters (!) and crime. As I said in another photo, hopefully this group of volunteers will be able to restore it to its former glory.
