What is the name of this attractive plant? Is it a type of gentian?

Hi Garcan, no it is a Ceratostigma, and i believe it is related to Plumbago, not Gentian - but don't hold me to that. unlike the Plumbago it is fully hardy in most parts of the UK, but it is a fussy little plant, it likes quite a bright posisson, but with some dapled shade for the hottest part of the day, during the summer, with plenty of sun in the colder months(if we get any that is! lol) - although it dose go dormant in the winter. not too wet, not to dry, and quite sheltered. but if you hit the right conditions it is an easy plant to grow. i have mine at the base of and south east facing tree, not too close to the roots, but close enough to be under its canopy during the summer. so it gets plenty of light but a bit of shade in the afternoon during the summer, but in full sun when the tree is bare. it seems to be working, mine is doing lovely, but i know a few others have had problems with them, - oh and my soil is a bit on the acid side, not sure if this is a factor, proberly is as it seem to like edge of woodland type conditions.
