Aren't their colors amazing..such a patterned look..

I just love owls, what a worry free looking one here. Our great horned's stay all winter, strange to hear in the dark deep winter across the snow.

~ these ones were particularly well looked after-we spoke to the owners and they sounded so committed to rescuing everything in sight and had some wonderful rescued owls-some people bring them large birds from a very wide area and we actually saw a huge vulture who couldn't fly anymore which looked well at home!
~we went back with my daughter and her husband after they returned from their honeymoon in the Kruger Park and took another whole batch of pictures! There were some that were down right scary like the huge Rhea which can apparently disembowel with it's sharp toes!
Well worth a visit but a long way to go to Capetown!
