These have grown tall due to lack of light, I assume, so I have put some supports in place...

those sections on the stems are nodes, there are stem cells at those nodes to produce new roots and shoots.... they each could produce a plant...perhaps try taking one of the long stems off at about an inch above the soil line... then with a very sharp knife cut the upper section (with the top leaves) just below a node at the point where the stem seems tough.)This ensures that the cane is old enough to produce roots. dip the last section in rooting powder and place in a pot of well draining compost. cut the rest of the cane into pieces with at least one node...score the outer bark a little and dip in herbaceous rooting powder..place in rooting medium end ways or long ways doesn't matter...keep the humidity up and keep out of drafts...may take them a while to catch (as spring is the best time to do this...) but you could have a dozen plants from one stem!

Yes, NN I had a Chinese Evergreen in my dining room window when we lived in the north... great plant...earned it's other name "cast iron plant".
it's related to the dieffenbachias and looks good with spathiphyllum too.
the CE and the Spath will tolerate the very low light levels in our winter rooms...lol. Another plant ...very old fashioned...was a hit with the Victorians...is the aspedistra...give any of these names google and you'll find volumes of info... enjoy.
