Stunning colour, was this taken recently, if not what is its flowering period?

No, dotty, this was taken back in June. The huge buds begin to open towards the end of April and keep going to June. It was supposed to have a second flowering, but didn't for some reason (probably my dodgy pruning!)

I love Clematis! This is a beauty - not a familiar one at all. Welcome from me, as well.
