Thanks John. I've been wondering for so long. I've been seeing it a in a few members outdoor gardens, it is sold by florists only here as well. They called it a tea tree but I had a feeling that was't correct. Its a pleasure, easy to maintain with enough light and warmth. I saved it from a 'frosted on the way here' bargain table, something I do almost too often. :-)

This is a so called bamboo palm Greenthumb. But as you will know it is neither a bamboo nor a palm. Unfortunately there are about 100 plants called 'bamboo palm' and I'm afraid I don't know which one this is. I do know that in summer it is sold in florists all over this town and probably the UK. So when I see it I will get you its botanical name if no-one else can come up with it before then. It is also an indoor plant here.
John.
