bricks and conifer

bricks and conifer

This is in our neighbour's garden which he said we could use as a working yard. We felt we should landscape as a way of saying "thank you". He said the mounds were "compost" - I've found out otherwise! I wanted to plant this conifer in this spot and had to dig all this rubble from the hole!

It's a conifer: Sciadopitys Verticillata - a native of Japan and slow growing. Location: sun, dappled shade. Growth habit: broadly conical. Height: 2m in 10 years. Will become a real eye-catcher.

Interesting. We had that plant in S.Cruz CA, but I have'nt seen any here in the Pacific Northwest. I am sure it would do fine. This tree deserves to be better known. Good for you Fourseasons.

It is also a good Bonsai subject. I would write a descriptive but it would be so censored. I will leave out the boughs and limbs and just finish ...with a friend that should be planted more often.

Slow is not all that bad. I will add to the first comment, "I wish you were my neigbour."
