Leonotis Leonurus

Leonotis Leonurus

Bought this about October. Label said it needed frost protection so it's in the greenhouse flowering away. Temperature in there was -3deg last night!

I had one and unfortunately lost it.
It's back on my wants list.

Certainly is a handsome plant, it will survive our winters here if planted in early spring, to give the root system time to get established. They start to bloom here until Late October, when little else is in bloom, great plant to have !

Thanks for the info Flcrazy. How cold do your winters get there?

Our average low here is 10 degrees Fahrenheit, believe that's -12.2 degrees Celsius. We did drop down to 5 F for two nights, about two weeks ago. I think it was too much for my bottle brush I planted this spring, looks like it bit the big one :-(
