It really amazed me at what she manages to grow in a town full of dirt, because it's so dry and hot over there no-one has lawns or nature strips just this pinky coloured gravely dirt. A large number of houses just had a couple of natives and that was all, some of the houses like my Nan's had nice gardens (piled high with mulch) but not that many.
