I saw teasal growing for the first time a few weeks ago in perthshire , its very beautiful , I asked someone what it was as it looked a bit like a thistle to me .

Hi Maccrimmon, Yes they are a thistle. Isn't it odd that something as common as a thistle can be so pretty? Even the Canadian thistles that are so ornery and stickery are very pretty in the flowering stage...if you don't touch them that is!
