Does the river freeze over? It looks large and slow moving. Great Pic!

This one freezes over, it is really large and slow. The Chena that runs through town is thawed a few places where warm water is dumped from the power station. The Tanana is a main tributary to the Yukon river, the big interior Alaska river, the only waterway from Canada to the Pacific. Tanana comes from the Alaska range in Delta, the main interior farming and ranching area. It has an enormous floodplain and many of the lakes around are left from the floods in spring at break up.
