Just been told this is proper name for Witch Hazel. The melis bit I think I understand. It certainly is very sweet. This is just the basic "common or garden" variety.

There are lots of different varieties, but I like this one.

I have one very similar MT it,s called Chimonanthus C. Praecox ... Winter sweet ..It dosn,t look much different to me !
