My birdfeeder is less than a foot from my kitchen window and I used my 350 mm lens on my Canon camera. It takes awesome shots. Blue jays are very hard to photograph as they are quite skiddish at the beginning of the season. They get less leary as time goes on. This is an Eastern Blue Jay. I saw a Stellar's Jay when I went to California once. They are cool too.

It's still a great shot Lisa! We have jays over here too - they do have a bit of a blue bar on the wing, but they are nothing like as pretty as this bird - it is lovely :-) Sarah.
