This photo shows the creek bed at the bottom of our sloping piece of property and it is usually as dry as a bone! It has been flowing for weeks now - a little more water every day! If you look carefully you can see it now stretches all the way to the other side of the creek bed!

Hi Irish. I think we've had almost 700mm over summer (500mm in January so far) - 22 days of rain in January has not been the norm. In recent years we have averaged less than 300mm over summer and usually that falls over about 14 days. We had over 180mm in one day about a fortnight ago!

Thanks Irish - gardeners anywhere aren't really happy unless they can get out into their garden! The rain actually means my city and surrounds are green which is most uncommon at this time of year. How much rain would you get in a year?
