Someone once cared about this garden enough to put scallop shells in the cement of the path.

I'd like to plant vegetables on the west side (the right). Lots of scope for climbers on the walls, and there is a strange metal doorframe over the path (perhaps an old garage door) which would suit runner beans. There's a lot of concrete on the east side and a budlea and tree which i think need to be cut hard back. I'd like some grasses and shrubs on this side. Then containers of geraniums etc. Definitely needs some aubrecia... and I am open to sugestions.
