Great planter, very novel. Strawberry plants... is it time to do this? Mine from last year, I put them all in one big pot, there is a lot of dead leaves, but some are still green.

Hi Wohibuli, these are last years strawberries. I have kept them over the winter in a sheltered spot. They normally live on my drive in the sunniest place.
The planters were ordered via the Internet, they look good, they are supposed to stack up into a tower, but I found that water was not penetrating to the bottom layer, so I did them in piles of twos. That worked much better.

Mine have been sheltering in the garage near a window, so I guess I need to get them cleaned up and bring them outside. We still have about 6-8 weeks until last spring frost. How low a temp can they tolerate?
The local weather people are predicting snow for Sunday, with a low of 23F so I don't want to put them out to early!

Hi Wohilbuli, I am in England, in the North of the Country. At the moment our temperature is is about 6-8 degrees daytime, and can go down to -3 degrees night time, that is celsius. I think it will be a lot different to you.
Keep yours sheltered a bit longer.

Thanks for the response Marge. I guess one of the main differences between here and there is that although it may get into the 70'sF during the day it can still get down to below freezing at night as late as mid April. I think I'll clean them up and let them outside but bring them in at night for a few weeks! : )
