An early morning visitor today - he blended in so well with the beech trees I had trouble locating him in the viewfinder. Taken through glass at a distance of about 30 m (zoom); as soon as I opened the window he was off. I don't think he was large enough to be a Great Grey, although some have been spotted around here recently.

Thanks, everyone. I was lucky to see him fly in over the bottom of the garden. Otherwise I'm not sure if I'd have spotted him sitting there. Not often you see one in daylight - it was about 7 am on a grey morning, so he was looking for a late supper, I suspect.
